BROAD SCOPE OF POSITION: Responsible for all aspects of facility grounds maintenance including exterior, minor irrigation repair and replacement of chemicals for maintenance on equipment, supply inventory, gate systems, paint, and repair of community fencing, etc.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Ensure equipment, irrigation and grounds are clean, safe, and in good working order
· Comply with all regulations regarding hazardous materials or objects
· Follow all fire, safety, and sanitation practices
· Communication with third party vendors for required services. (At the approval of Executive Director)
· Manage established preventive maintenance program on all grounds equipment
· Perform minor repairs as needed, including the maintenance of the pool/spa equipment
· Follow a work order system and document all tasks
· Assist in relocation of residents within community as needed
· Assist with tasks at the community for events/activities and marketing needs for the community (setup of tables, chairs, and event decorations)
· Follow all OSHA compliance procedures
· Understand and comply with all resident’s rights
· Performs other duties as assigned
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
· High school diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE:
· Experience in working in long term or geriatric care preferred
SPECIAL SKILLS OR KNOWLEDGE:
· Must have knowledge and conceptual understanding of grounds/landscaping maintenance
· General knowledge of light electrical, plumbing, irrigation, and seasonal seeding, trimming of trees, bushes, all foliage
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
(With or without the aid of mechanical devices)
· Must be able to Lift a minimum of 50lbs.
· Requires reaching, grasping
· Pushing and pulling, work on and off ladders
· Reading and writing
· Communicate with residents and personnel
· Remain calm under stressful conditions
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
· Must be able to follow oral and written directions
· Able to relate to residents and families and cooperate with all personnel
· Capable of maintaining reliable attendance
· Must meet all health requirements
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
· Work will be performed outside and inside.
· Employee is subject to noise, vibration, some hazardous materials.
· Employee is required to wear protective equipment when necessary.
