Sedgebrook is Hiring a Fitness Specialist | Part Time Near Lincolnshire, IL
Title: Health Fitness Specialist
Status: Non-Exempt, Part-Time
Rate of Pay: $23 per hour
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8:30AM - 12:30PM
- Teaches group exercise classes both on land and in water; provides a range of acceptable activities to meet various fitness levels of class participants; adheres to appropriate safety guidelines while keeping classes inviting, challenging, and well-attended.
- Exercise Prescriptions: Evaluates and combines member goals, health history, fitness test data, physician recommendations, ACSM guidelines, and other relevant information to create effective exercise programs; research unknown conditions, goals, or other relevant information as needed.
- Creates educational and program-specific print materials that are relevant to older adults and that convey safe and accurate health information; writes clearly and informatively, varies writing style to meet audience needs.
- Supervises fitness center and uses educational background and other relevant training to accurately and safely answer member questions related to health, fitness, and wellbeing.
- Conducts orientations according to the facility layout, membership policies/procedures, and Quality Assurance guidelines.
Here are a few of the qualifications we need you to have:
- Bachelor's degree in a health-related field or industry-related certifications (CPT, CCS, etc.) preferred
- Has knowledge to safely and accurately prescribe exercise for older adults using ACSM guidelines
- Current CPR/AED/First Aid certification required
