The Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) Analyst is responsible for facilitating the administration of the Bank Secrecy Act and related investigative functions. This role is critical in assisting with the research and investigation of customer and transactional data, as well as reporting to applicable governmental agencies and law enforcement. Investigations involve the collection, analysis, and evaluation of information from various sources, the documentation of research findings, and the completion of reports as required by bank regulations.

Job Description
  • Serve as primary analyst for the Bank’s automated BSA/AML program. Review alerts and corresponding activity, including conducting case review and escalating items to BSA Officer as necessary.
  • Assist with the Bank’s BSA investigative & reporting requirements including preparation, review, and follow up of those reports.
  • Perform on-going enhanced due diligence reviews of higher risk customers as required by the Bank’s BSA procedures.
  • Provide support with all other BSA and OFAC related functions and assist with training of Bank staff.
  • Assist with the Bank’s FACT Act program including consumer disputes, red flag checklists, and training.
  • Assist with monitoring, review, and tracking of Retail Loans for Compliance and Loan Policy exceptions.
  • Support the Bank’s collection activities by assisting with monitoring of delinquent accounts, preparation and tracking of notices, and other related tasks.
  • Maintain and update records for accounts and loans and preparing information for reporting.
  • Maintain adequate knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act and other banking regulations by reviewing information bulletins and releases, regulatory announcements and by attending periodic training sessions.
Required for this position: Strong analytical and problem resolution skills. Excellent attention to detail, general understanding of accounting and balancing, ability to identify missing items, advanced organizational skills, ability to work under deadlines, independent thinking, the ability to visualize cause and affect relationships of data and documents, clear and concise reporting, self-motivation, strong oral and written communication skills.
Education And Experience
  • Accuracy and meticulous attention to detail required
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to navigate multiple computer systems and programs with working knowledge of Word and Excel
  • Ability to manage multiple requests simultaneously, meet deadlines, and show flexibility to change direction when needed
  • Team-oriented and the ability to work collaboratively across all levels of the organization
  • Service-oriented, polite, and respectful
  • Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to take direction and instruction and follow through independently until project completion
