Contract Security Officer - Part time
Contract Security Officer for Pentagon Force Protection Agency
Objective
The ability to effectively interact with the general public, DoD personnel, and all ranks of military, civilians, and visitors.
This position is under the direct supervision of the site Captain for the assigned shift of the security department and is responsible for the protection, safeguarding, and security of assets, personnel, customers, and all visitors.
Mission
The PFPA mission is to provide force protection, security, and law enforcement operations as required for the people, facilities, infrastructure, and other resources at the Pentagon Reservation and for DoD activities and DoD-occupied facilities not under the jurisdiction of a Military Department within the National Capital Region (NCR).
This responsibility includes security of the buildings; identification passes; anti-terrorism and force protection; chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear protection and detection;
and other key functions. In order to fully respond to the responsibilities of the mission, PFPA requires contracted security personnel to provide protection of its facilities, physical assets, and all related operational activities for designated locations within the NCR.
Essential Functions
Be able to read and understand the English language to effectively carry out applied printed rules, detailed orders, instructions, and training materials.
Have a command of both the written and spoken English language to properly and clearly communicate in person or via electronic devices (telephone and radio) with co-workers and the general public.
The ability to maintain a professional, tactful and courteous demeanor under stressful situations security personnel routinely encounter.
Be able to compose in the English language precise short paragraphs, written reports, and other reports as necessary.
