Securian Financial Group is Hiring a National Accounts Manager Near Minnetonka, MN

Overview :
Securian Financial Group is seeking an experienced National Accounts Manager to identify, market, onboard and manage channel partners to support Securian Financial in achieving annuity & life insurance sales success. As an associate of Securian Financial, you will be part of a hard-working, high-performing, bright-thinking, make-things-happen team.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Responsible for identifying new broker/dealers and financial institutions that are interested in a mutual beneficial partnership with one of the highest rated insurance companies in America.
  • Coordinate all aspects of on boarding and due diligence to ensure a seamless process for the channel partner.
  • Negotiate selling agreements, sales, and partnership agreements.
  • Cultivate relationships with channel partners’ centers of influence to maximize Securian’s shelf-space and visibility.
  • Utilize a consultative approach with channel partners to match the product solutions and value-adds of Securian Financial.
  • Work closely with Securian wholesalers to collaborate on financial advisor relationship building and sales efforts within assigned distribution relationships.
  • Travel to distribution partner’s home offices, national meetings and events as well as regional and industry events to promote Securian’s products and services.
  • Develop and execute detailed business and marketing plans for each assigned relationship.
  • Understand the needs of key decision makers and communicate regularly with them regarding product and service enhancements.
  • Contribute to the overall marketing strategy for Individual Solutions by identifying trends and analyzing business opportunities for Securian.
  • Work with Securian’s manufacturer and business services areas to advocate for channel partner needs.
  • Maintain a focused prospect list.
    Qualifications:
  • 5 years of experience managing national accounts with a track record of success selling variable, index, and fixed annuities and/or VUL, IUL, linked benefit, and term life insurance products to broker/dealers and financial institutions.
  • Strong communicator with the ability to build relationships and deliver exceptional sales results.
  • Proven negotiation skills.
  • Ability to think strategically with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong working knowledge of retail insurance products including products offered by our competitors.
  • Ability to speak and present in front of large groups of people.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to work autonomously and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Technical skills to use Office products, Salesforce, Citrix, iPads and other relevant hardware and software.
  • Ability to manage expenses and be fiscally responsible.
  • FINRA Series 6 or 7 & 63 and life insurance license required.
  • A valid driver’s license.
    Physical Job Requirements:
  • Ability to utilize the keyboard, computer and/or mouse for up to 8 hours per day.
  • Ability to work at least 40 hours per week.
  • Ability to utilize the phone and/or virtual meeting platform for 1-4 hours per day.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of traveling, approximately 50% to 70% travel required; this includes the ability to operate a motor vehicle as well as an ability to utilize air travel.
