Title: District Store Coordinator

The District Store Coordinator reports to the District Manager and is responsible for the performance and achievement of regional goals such as sales estimates and revenue projections by finding and developing SecureSpace talent by hiring, training, and coaching store team members. He/she will be working directly with the store teams, providing guidance and leadership to team members with all aspects of store operations. The District Store Coordinator will work mostly in our stores, leading by example, and to help provide the highest level of customer service to SecureSpace patrons.

Key Responsibilities (but are not limited to):

  • Responsible for the management and operation of the stores assigned to them in their District.
  • Manages and evaluates store managers and assistant store managers, coaching and developing team members to reach our company’s fiscal and operational goals. This will include the hiring and terminating of employees, training and onboarding of new hires, evaluating performance of the employees in their district, monitoring attendance to ensure the stores are open, reviewing and approving store team shift schedules, and taking disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Ensures operational efficiency in each store by reviewing and evaluating the tasks done by the store teams and performing periodic audits of the work performed.
  • Engages customers in a positive and professional manner and uses their professional judgment and discretion to handle and resolve matters related to customer service and retention, including handling customer complaints, requests for refunds, waiving of fees, delaying/cancelling rate increases, and other customer escalation matters.
  • Ensures that marketing efforts are consistent across each store in the region.
  • Participates in setting regional goals such as sales estimates and revenue projections.
  • Coordinate budgets and marketing efforts to maximize opportunities in each store
  • Ensures that the stores under their supervision adhere to company policies and industry regulations.
  • Ensures that all stores meet safety and cleanliness standards
  • Manages a regional budget and ensuring that each store operates within the budget.
  • Monitors each store's P&L reports and key performance indicators/metrics and works with the store teams to make necessary improvements.
  • Addresses operational problems that arise such as overseeing and determining the scope and timing of maintenance and repairs.
  • Acts as the liaison between individual stores and regional leadership, to aid store team members understand new policies and procedures, systems and tools, and be a resource for the stores’ successes.
  • Travels to store locations for training and follow up or to cover for team members’ time off.
  • Performs transition procedures for any newly built stores and the take over of existing properties. This includes the transfer of information from legacy management software to the company’s operating platform, notify and manage existing customers, ensure that all store operations has been onboarded, all critical systems and equipment on site are understood and operable, and any incoming staff are onboarded to the new manner of property management.
  • Ensures that customer service levels are consistent across stores by observing store team performance and reading/addressing customer reviews to uncover areas of improvement as well as areas to highlight and celebrate with the store teams.
  • Recognizes potential maintenance issues, safety hazards and make recommendations accordingly and in a timely manner so that the Company’s assets are protected while ensuring that budgets are appropriately considered.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • 3 years of self-storage store manager or self-storage multi-store oversight experience
  • High school diploma/GED preferred
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for required travel via car and/or airplane (mostly for travel within the designated area, likely the Western portion of the US).
  • Will need to move about inside the leasing office to access and operate computers and other office equipment.
  • Ability to lift more than 30 lbs.
  • Quantitative aptitude and experience managing budgets.
  • Leadership and decision-making ability.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Analytical mindset and problem-solving skill.
  • Customer service oriented and approachable with the ability to anticipate and respond to the needs of our patrons
  • Travel is required for this role (up to about 50-60% of the time)
  • Some weekend work may be required, depending on the business needs
