Description

The Facilities Vehicle Technician is responsible for performing general maintenance and repairs. A majority of the responsibilities will be managing the scheduled maintenance and inspection of the fleet, as well as making recommendations and follow through with vehicle requests and needs. This position will also carry out some construction, remodeling, and renovation projects as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule maintenance of fleet vehicles, inspecting weekly for issues, as well as making recommendations for repair and performing light maintenance on the vehicles.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
  • Work independently and as a Facilities team member completing assigned tasks in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate records and detailed reporting.
  • Attend and participate in all Mission meetings and training sessions, as required.
  • Carry out any other department duties as assigned by supervisor, such as janitorial, landscaping and general repair and maintenance in the following areas: plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, sheetrock repair and flooring.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • Required to be on-call one week per month.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications


Qualification

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum three years of fleet vehicle repair and maintenance required
  • Facility and equipment maintenance/construction experience highly preferred.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for long periods of time in a temperature-controlled environment. Occasionally will stand, balance, twist, stoop, kneel and reach with hands/arms. Occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds and walks, use stairways to climb to multiple floors within the company. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
