Under the direction of the Parts Manager, or as company policy dictates, sells marine parts, equipment, and services in marine parts store.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintains parts inventory by verifying supplies and placing orders when order-points are reached
• Completes sale by entering purchased items into management system; obtaining payment; adding purchase to credit account; issuing sales receipts.
• Receives returned items by inspecting items; returning payment; issuing credit; re-packing and re-shelving items; returning damaged items to supplier
• Post work order parts on work orders to correct job line before the service tech leaves the parts office
• Takes customer orders by phone or in person
• Coordinate with service department on any and all special-order parts to make sure parts are available for scheduled service dates.
• Advises customer on substitution or modification of part when replacement is not available
• Receives, marks, and stocks parts in stockroom or on floor according to prearranged system
• Reconciles cash drawer till with sales slips, and credit card charges
• Prepares items to be shipped
• Takes inventory of stock
• Adjusts inventory system recording incoming and outgoing parts into management system
• Reads catalogs, software, or internet for replacement part stock number and price
• Ensure parts area maintains a clean and professional atmosphere
• Maintains safe and secure environment by adhering to and enforcing safety standards and procedures
