The Computer Science Department at Seattle University invites applications for a full-time Instructor and Capstone Coordinator position beginning September 2023.
Do you want to share your experience leading technical projects and people, and to help develop the next generations of technical leaders both inside and outside the classroom? In this position you will exercise your organizational, technical, and people skills, directing a crucial part of the Seattle University Computer Science curriculum: the industry-sponsored software development capstone project.
Candidates must have a strong interest in mentoring and developing students and faculty advisors through a capstone project experience, including teaching the capstone project introduction/launch course, and partnering with the community and industry to develop capstone projects.
Candidates must demonstrate a genuine desire to educate and inspire purposeful, ethical leaders, critical thinkers and problem-solvers who are driven to use their education in the service of others.
The Capstone Project Coordinator organizes and coordinates Undergraduate- and Masters-level capstone projects through the College of Science and Engineering Project Center. Responsibilities include:
The Coordinator will be expected to teach project-related classes in our academic curriculum (e.g. project management, software engineering, technical communication) or other computer science courses depending on interest and experience.
Compensation at a Glance:
Salary Range: $68,800 to $80,000

The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, and not based on a candidate’s gender or any other protected status.
