Summary of Responsibilities

Seattle Learning Center provides an exciting early learning environment for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. Our focus is to encourage creativity through play and physical activity. We aim to inspire children to be life-long learners and establish a cooperative relationship between parents and staff.

We are seeking a preschool teacher for our Queen Anne school. The center is licensed for 37 children between the ages of 3 months to 6 years old. The center has a small and strong community of teachers and parents who are working together to provide the best early learning experience for the children.

We are seeking a teacher that is passionate about working for a small family-owned childcare center. You will be part of a community that focuses on building a center that is child-centered, play-based, and committed to high quality early childhood education. You will have the administrative support needed for you to be able to focus on your duties as a teacher. The ratio for our preschool classrooms is 1 teacher per 5 students.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

· Early Childhood Education (ECE) state certificate (or willingness to complete one within 6 months of hire)

· One year of early learning/group childcare experience

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

· BA in early childhood education or a related field

· 2 years of experience as a preschool teacher in a licensed childcare center (RIE/Montessori), experience with children in the autism spectrum or children with special needs

JOB DETAILS:

· This job requires you to teach in the preschool room. The children are ages 2.5 to 5 years old. You must be comfortable working with this age group and with changing diapers/potty training.

COMPENSATION/BENEFITS (after the introductory period):

· $23-25 per hour (negotiable for highly qualified and experienced teachers)

· Paid Time Off (10-21 days per year and up to 11 days paid federal holidays)
