Seattle Colleges is looking to hire an Advancement Associate in the Office of Advancement.
Salary range for this position is $56,924/yr. to $78,610/yr.

The Advancement Associate is a full-time administrative, exempt position in the Office of Advancement and reports to the Director of Major Gifts. The Advancement Associate handles the administrative aspects of fundraising, donor tracking and stewardship for the Seattle Colleges Foundation. This role also assists with donor relations, creates and distributes donor communications, and supports the day-to-day operations of the major gifts program.
Hybrid work schedule available.
This position is governed by a collective bargaining agreement with representation by AFT-SPS.

What you will be working on:

  • Maintains and organizes donor and campaign solicitation materials.
  • Supports tracking of incoming donations and CRM management including entering offline donations. Updates donor information, creates reports as needed, pulls mailing lists, and supports data integrity using Raiser’s Edge Classic and Raiser’s Edge NXT.
  • Supports the preparation and distribution of all gift acknowledgements.
  • Supports prospect research by conducting online research and using ResearchPoint.
  • Works in partnership with the fundraising team on donor visit logistics, (e.g. confirm venue and prep space, prepare materials, and update database with fundraising activities).
  • Maintains donor records with updated information, communications, and stewardship plans.
  • Participates in donor strategies, drafting donor communication, and pulling lists as needed.
  • Monitors email for the department and provides timely responses or forwards to the appropriate people to handle.
  • Keeps supervisor informed of significant and important items requiring review or action; obtains information from staff members, relays assignments, adheres to stated deadlines for assignments; compiles information for progress reports and fundraising reporting.
  • Assists with planning of select events to further engage and cultivate new and existing relationships; and recognize donors.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.

  • A high level of cultural competency and the ability to work with a diverse group of students, colleagues, and community members.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Clear understanding and deep appreciation of the Seattle Colleges mission.
  • 3 years of development/advancement experience or related experience required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience with Raiser’s Edge and Research Point preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and written communication skills.
  • The ability to prioritize and manage several projects at various stages of completion.
  • Experience and a high degree of proficiency working with the Microsoft Office suite.

Physical Requirements:

The Position

  • Typically works in an office environment and uses a computer, telephone and other office equipment as needed to perform duties. The noise level in the work environment is typical of that of an office.
  • Encounters frequent interruptions throughout the workday.
  • Is regularly required to provide 1:1 support, present to small groups, and work at a computer exercising repetitive hand motion with or without reasonable accommodation.
