JOB TITLE: School Psychologist

REPORTS TO: Special Services Director

JOB SUMMARY: The school psychologist provides consultation, assessment, and intervention services to families, staff, and children within the Seaside School District.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Master’s degree or higher.
  2. Oregon Personnel Service License with School Psychologist endorsement.
  3. Minimum of two years of school psychologist experience (any level)
  4. Criminal history clearance (background check and HB 2062).

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Thorough knowledge of special education laws and procedures
  2. Participate in screening and/or the development of pre-referral interventions to determine response to intervention and whether further evaluation is needed. 
  3. Function as a team member in the evaluation process. 
  4. Assess referred students utilizing a broad range of assessment instruments and techniques. Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans. 
  5. Consult with parents, teachers, and other educational personnel to help them understand child development and how it affects learning and behavior. 
  6. Provide consultation on the needs of children. 
  7. Provide individual, group, or consultative services for referred students whose diagnosed needs would be addressed through behavioral interventions. 
  8. Prepare and submit the required documentation. 
  9. Cooperate with and develop collaborative relationships with personnel of mental health, community health, and other state and local agencies serving and supporting children with special needs and prepare forms as requested by outside agencies.
  10. Perform other related duties as assigned.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Pending approval of the 2024-2025 budget. 195-day contract at 1.0 FTE, starting Fall 2024. Salary of $70,000-$110,000, dependent on experience with excellent benefits including Medical, Dental and Vision insurance and Oregon state retirement. Paid time off includes one sick day per month worked and two personal days, pro-rated per school year. Benefit information can be found at https://www.seaside.k12.or.us/hr/benefits.
