JOB TITLE: Elementary STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Math) Education Teacher (1.0 FTE)

REPORTS TO: Building Principal

JOB SUMMARY: The primary duties and responsibilities of the STEAM teacher involve instruction directly related to STEAM and computer science in our Art & Science classroom. A successful candidate must be collaborative, a relationship builder, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be well trained in technology, lesson design, early learners, while providing effective and engaging teaching strategies. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelor’s Degree or higher.
2. Hold or be eligible for Oregon Teaching Certification with Elementary Level authorization.
3. Ability to establish positive working relationships with students, staff, and parents.
4. Highly effective communication, listening, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
5. Willingness to participate in school and district level committees.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Expert level of technology and 21st century learning understanding and application.
2. Strong in Google Apps for Education skills (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Sites, etc.).
3. Spanish speaker.

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Demonstrate the ability to design, model, and deliver rich student-centered learning experiences around Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math grade level standards in Kindergarten through 5^th
2. Work in partnership with teachers and staff, modeling consistent effective teaching with technology, engagement, lesson plan design, and use of technology, STEAM and online tools.
3. Differentiate as needed to ensure all students experience maximum participation and success.
4. Provide ongoing formative and summative feedback to students.
5. Demonstrate a growth mindset individually and support this development with all students.
6. Implement and support school-wide programs to include PBIS, Growth Mindset, Trauma Informed Care, etc.
7. Establish and maintain standards of student behavior to provide an orderly, productive environment in the Art & Science classroom that supports and aligns with the school-wide PBIS

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  190-day contract at 1.0 FTE. Salary as per negotiated contract, with excellent benefit package. Contingent on budget approval in the 2022-2023 budget. Starting: August 2022.
