SEASIDE SD 10 is Hiring an Assistant Secretary/High School Near Seaside, OR

JOB TITLE: High School Assistant Secretary

REPORTS TO: Building Principal

JOB SUMMARY: This position provides full spectrum administrative support to the school principal and staff including matters of a confidential nature handling daily work pressures, requiring constant concentration to a volume of work which must be completed within a limited period of time and serves as the first point of contact at the assigned school for staff, students, parents and community members fielding inquiries and directing appropriately.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Criminal history clearance (background check and HB 2062).
  3. Competency in a variety of software applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, email and calendars.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Spanish speaker.

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Performs a wide variety of secretarial work, including answering phones, word processing, filing and mail.
  2. Completes a high volume of computer data entry, using District computer programs, to input data with speed and accuracy, including confidential data, in an environment with constant interruptions.
  3. Researches, creates, inputs, formats, organizes and edits data as requested and prepares in a usable format.
  4. Independently answers routine questions and correspondence not requiring the supervisor’s attention.
  5. Maintains accurate student records including attendance records, new/transfer student registrations, student withdrawals, behavior referrals, immunization records and student grades.
  6. Compiles and prepares reports for administration or outside agencies, as required.
  7. Schedules conferences and programs as required including creating schedules, contacting all invited parties, preparing confirmation and distributing materials to all parties (teachers, specialists, parents, etc.).
  8. Assists in evaluating student injuries, performs minor first aid and administers medications.
  9. Appropriately maintains and secures confidential records and inquiries.
  10. Professionally represents the school and District in interactions with parents, community, staff and students.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 207 day contract, 40 hour week/1.0 FTE. Salary (code 7) as per union agreement, with excellent benefits. Start date: ASAP
