Description

SUMMARY: Responsible for taking orders, entering them in the POS system, setting up trays, delivering and retrieving all food and beverage orders to guest rooms.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Answers the IRD phone with great customer service and take orders from patrons
• Enter order information into the POS system and follow up with kitchen to ensure timely delivery
• Creates check for each guest to ensure accountability of all food and beverages served
• Set trays and food accordingly and deliver to hotel guests in golf cart
• Retrieving Room Service trays and dishes from resort grounds/ guest rooms in a timely manner
• Receives cash from guests, make changes if necessary, verifies validity of charges, records charges, and ensures vouchers are properly executed and money balances
• Receive guests complaints and provide positive solutions to guest while ensuring their concern is resolved
• Follow all guidelines and regulations regarding food safety
• Clean and organize Room Service carts during slow times
• Restocking condiments, napkins, covers, silverware, flowers and tablecloths
• Setup and deliver all amenities to rooms in a timely manner
• Upsell food, beverage and promotional items to guests
• Follow all responsible alcohol practices and card all guests whom appear under 21
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and IRD storage rooms
• Serve non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages in accordance with regulations
• Perform side work as required
• Attend department meetings
• Perform other related duties as requested by the supervisor

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Must be able to work well under pressure
• Ability to manage difficult or emotional customers or situations and respond promptly
• Ability to communicate effectively and proficiently in writing and verbally
• Ability to complete basic mathematical calculations
• Strong phone, sales, and customer service skills
• Proficient in MICROS POS system
• Must be at least 18 years old

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

• At least 1-2 years of in room dining or restaurant serving experience
• Prior resort and/or hospitality experience preferred
• High school diploma or equal to a GED

LANGUAGE SKILLS

• Must speak and communicate in English
• Must be able to clearly communicate with guests, management and coworkers

CERTIFICATES & LICENSES

• Food Handler Certificate required
• TIPS Certificate required
• Must provide valid document(s) to work in the US
• Valid California Driver License is required

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment at ranges from winter time lows of 30 degrees to summer time highs to 80 degrees. While performing these duties the employee may be exposed to outdoor and inclement weather conditions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to:

• Stand, sit, or walk for long periods of time
• Ability to handle and carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds
• Frequently bends, stoops, pushes, and lifts to perform routine job tasks
• Flexibility and good reflexes required to operate electric golf cart
• Ability to use stairs frequently
