Company Overview: Our client is a leading private research university, currently seeking a talented Infrastructure Engineer (Email) to join a team on a hybrid contract basis in Houston. This role presents an exciting opportunity to play a key role in migrating email data, focusing on both Windows and Unix platforms, and facilitating seamless transitions to platforms such as Gmail, Apple, Office 365, and more.

Position Overview: As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will be instrumental in our email data migration efforts, working closely with our team to ensure the successful transfer of data from existing systems to modern platforms. This position requires strong scripting abilities in Powershell and Linux, as well as expertise in automating processes to enhance efficiency and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute email data migration projects.
• Utilize Powershell and Linux scripting to develop tools and automate processes related to email data migration.
• Extract data from IMAP servers and map it to various target platforms including Gmail, Apple, Office 365, etc.
• Perform system analysis, troubleshooting, and debugging to ensure data integrity and security throughout the migration process.
• Document procedures, configurations, and technical specifications related to email data migration activities.
• Provide technical support and guidance to team members as needed.

Qualifications:

• 5 years of experience in infrastructure engineering or related roles.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Powershell and Linux shell scripting.
• Experience with email data migration projects, particularly involving Windows and Unix platforms.
• Strong understanding of IMAP protocols and email systems.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Google Workspace, Apple iCloud, and Microsoft Office 365 and Mozilla Thunderbird
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
