SEARCH Education Developmental Services, Inc is Hiring an Infant Teacher Near Claremont, CA

We are looking for a qualified Early Intervention Specialist (Infant Teacher) for young children 0-36 months old who have developmental delays or who are at-risk, by helping them increase their communication and other functioning ability through a designed play-based activities. You will be the child's one-on-one teacher, friend, and parent's consultant. A infant teacher must have a passion with love and patience for these young children and empathetic thoughts for family/parents. Qualifications needed to teach these children effectively include knowledge of practices and methods as well as the ability to engage them and earn their trust. The goal is to contribute to the healthy mental and emotional development of the child so they can more easily acclimate in the next level of education.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a careful and creative program suitable for preschool children
  • Employ a variety of educational techniques (toys, storytelling, creative play, etc.) to encourage their engagement.
  • Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem
  • Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional arguments
  • Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers or colors, do crafts etc.)
  • Track children’s progress and report to parents
  • Communicate with parents regularly to understand the children’s background and psyche
  • Attend weekly professional development meeting and collaborate with other professionals
  • Maintain a clean and organized case notes, keep schedule on time, and updated progress report writing with writing standards

Skills/Education

  • Proven experience as a Infant Teacher
  • Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and play skill methods
  • Excellent communication and instructional skills
  • Cool-tempered, friendly and reliable
  • Balance between a creative mind and a practical acumen
  • BS/BA in early childhood/psychology/sociology/education, or relevant field
  • Valid teaching credential or license to practice profession will get bonus pay

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
