Essential Duties:

• Keep accurate and timely records for Seagull Schools, Inc., HCNP/CACFP and USDA
• Directly responsible for creating, managing, and storing all of the meal production records, cycle menus, and estimated and actual meal counts for all locations.
• Support the scheduling of maintenance and record keeping of delivery vehicle(s)
• Manage the vendor appointments, delivery schedules, and invoice record keeping in Seagull’s Accounting systems
• Assist and manage mileage and expense reimbursements between the Food Service team and the Business Office
• Ensure Seagull Schools, Inc. always maintains full compliance with all State and Federal agencies, including the State of Hawaii Department of Health, State of Hawaii Department of Human Services, USDA, HCNP and CACFP.
• Attend classes, in-services and workshops assigned by the Food Service Manager or Chief Operations Officer
• React to change productively and complete tasks as assigned
• Support the philosophy and mission of Seagull Schools, Inc.
• Assists with breakfast and snacks.
  1. Counting of fruits, vegetables, etc. for each site.
  2. Mixing juice and preparing quantity for each site.
  3. Helping with preparation of breakfast and snacks.
• Lunch support:
  1. Loading milk into coolers for sites.
  2. Assisting in the preparation of vegetables and meat when needed.
  3. Preparing the bread and butter.
  4. Helping with picnic lunches when needed. 
• Kitchen support:
  1. Setting up boxes for all sites.
  2. Sanitizing coolers.
  3. Wash dishes and scrub baking pans.
  4. Assists with stocking inventory to include canned goods, paper products and milk.
  5. Assists driver with lunch boxes for delivery.
  6. Bring boxes in at the end of the day.
• Miscellaneous:
  1. Assists with wiping and cleaning refrigerator, range and freezers.
  2. Assists with cleaning of cupboards and drawers.
  3. Assists with day end cleaning.
  4. Serves as the back-up delivery driver in the absence of the regular driver.
  5. Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

General Responsibilities:

• Be knowledgeable about Child Nutrition Programs and provide training to staff in meeting the programs' requirements
• Ensure Seagull Schools, Inc. is always fully compliant with the Civil Rights policies, procedures and requirements as detailed by the USDA
• Provide on-the-job-training as necessary
• Be willing to serve as a backup delivery driver as needed
• Accurately complete monthly inventory of food and non-food supplies. Complete an inventory of equipment annually
• Submit invoice and payroll records to the main office on schedule
• Complete the menu planning production records for breakfast, snack and lunch according to USDA requirements
• Maintain accurate records of accountability for all meals served to students and adults
• Assist the Food Service Manager to conduct quarterly inspections at all campuses, including announced and unannounced visits using the approved Facility Monitoring Form
• Responsible for managing all records, memos and other documentation as required by the USDA, State agencies, and Seagull Schools, Inc.
• Complete other duties as assigned by the Food Services Manager

Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions:

• Requires prolonged sitting and standing
• Requires some physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull or push heavy objects or materials
• Requires stooping, bending and reaching
• Requires concentration in a noisy environment
• Requires flexibility in work hours as required to fulfill duties
• Requires ability to drive and transport food to other schools as necessary

 The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Required Education Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must successfully pass all required employment and health clearances (e.g. TB clearance, clean driving abstract, etc.).

• Must have excellent recordkeeping and math skills.
• Have the ability to interact with staff, senior clients, parents and children in a consistently pleasant manner.
• Must have the desire to continue career growth.

Work Authorization, Health and Security Clearance:

• First Aid/CPR Certification
• Medical clearance from infectious diseases and other health issues in order to work in a child and applicable adult center environment
• Security clearance in order to work in a child and applicable adult center environment
