I. BASIC PURPOSE OF POSITION:
To provide high quality janitorial services to the apartments and common areas of the facility and building.
II. CUSTOMER/CLIENTS SERVED BY POSITION:
Residents, family members, guests, potential residents and staff
III. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Prefer High school diploma or vocational training. Will accept experience in-lieu of formal education.
IV. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Must be at least 18 years of age. Some janitorial experience desirable, but not necessary. On the job training is available.
V. SPECIAL SKILLS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATION AND /OR SPECIALTRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to follow directions. Able to speak, read, and understand the English language. Class C Drivers license. Able to pass the pre- employment physical/TB test and able to obtain a fingerprint clearance as required by licensure.
VI. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES THAT MUST BE SAFELY PERFORMED WITH OR WITHOUT REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION WITHOUTPOSING A DIRECT THREAT TO OTHER EMPLOYEES, RESIDENTS AND STAFF.
WORK PERFORMANCE – job knowledge, quality, productivity, planning, creativity, initiative
1. Maintain assigned work area in a neat, clean and aseptic status.
2. Assist in the appropriate arrangement of furniture as necessary for both housekeeping purposes and to make room for activity programs.
3. Observe and report to supervisor problems requiring maintenance
4. Maintain assigned tools and equipment in clean and appropriate working order and in proper supply.
5. Assist in room transfers and admissions.
6. May do some exterior work such as cleaning sidewalks, removing litter and sweeping entrances.
7. Interior window washing and other cleaning relating window care, such as frames, screens, and metal tracks.
8. Clean air condition vents and outside covers.
9. All general floor care from stripping through sealing, waxing and daily spray buffing.
10. Cleaning of all ceiling and wall vents
11. Carpet shampooing and spot cleaning as needed.

12. Corridor vacuuming, washing of fluorescent light fixture diffusers in hallways and all areas.
13. Cleaning of walls and all general large areas.
14. Clean grounds, trash areas, patios, loading docks and service area.
15. Responsible for quality of work performed and efficiency in work pattern.
16. Responsible for keeping up with work flow.
17. Responsible for care and use of supplies and equipment and assigned janitor closet.
18. Working with other employees and organization and neatness in work area during procedures.
19. Responsible for reporting malfunctioning equipment and need for supplies.
20. Responsible for delivery of packages to residents and SV staff members.

MISSION, VISION, POLICY AND REGULATIONS - SV Philosophy, adherence to policy, judgment
1.. Familiarize self with Seacrest Village mission/vision, rules, policies and procedures and same with the Jewish Tradition as observed by our residents, family and guests.
2. Observes safety regulations; to include but not limited to wearing appropriate safety equipment, reporting
work related injuries, using proper body mechanics, responding to fire/disaster alarms and wearing
security access name badge.
3. Follows timekeeping policy by utilizing timeclock to report all hours worked and takes all mandatory thirty minute meal periods by the fifth hour of work unless six hours completes the and OT is authorized by supervisor.
4. Wear appropriate clothing per facility and uniform policy to include name badge at all times.
5. As a matter of SV policy and federal and state law; attends HIPAA training, follows HIPAA confidentiality and privacy policy, applies “minimum necessary”, “needs to know” guidelines on all PHI information and reports non-compliance violations to Privacy Officer.
6. As a mandated reporter per DOJ requirements; attends Mandated Reporter Abuse training meetings, will
report all abuse incidents; physical, emotional, financial, sexual, verbal, completing the 1) SOC 341 form,
mailing or faxing, 2) calling the ombudsmen and/or department of health services; for Assisted Living \
and Independent Living, call ombudsmen, and APS (adult protective services), and 3) informing
supervisor so resident can be protected.
7. Follow the corporate compliance standard and employee code of conduct, of performing work with an
ethical behavior and utilizing proper business conduct and professional practice, that complies with
applicable laws, rules and regulations; as serving the residents, preserving the organizational reputation,
maintaining resident/employee trust, community respect. Reports non-compliance or concerns to
Corporate Compliance Officer.
VII. NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Organize front lobby, i.e., newspapers, magazines, etc. Washing and drying resident personal laundry. Clean apartments in absence of housekeeper or do laundry.
VIII. OUTCOME WHEN JOB IS DONE WELL: The residents, their family, guests and staff of Seacrest are proud to walk the building and comment positively on the appearance and service. The facility is clean and free of debris and health and safety codes are met.

X. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee successfully to perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use of hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel and crouch or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include, close vision, distance, vision peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Must wear suitable equipment required in performing janitorial needs, and setting up equipment for special events. Equipment needed but not limited to back support belts, gait belts, respirator, mask, gloves. Exposure to chemicals and toxic solutions constant. Able to lift and move, unassisted, up to 5O lbs.
