Job Summary

Seacrest Country Day School is seeking a mission driven Spanish instructor, starting 2023-2024 school year. The teacher will fuel intellectual engagement and inspire students to use the Spanish language correctly through reading, writing, analyzing and critically thinking.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Nurture learners’ interests in Spanish speaking countries and cultures;
• Develop learners Spanish reading skills;
• Motivate learners to write with specified levels of proficiency in Spanish;
• Integrate world language and cultural learning across the curriculum; and
• Integrate school and broader community resources to inspire a love of world language learning and service-minded actions.
• Work alongside grade levels teams to build cross-curricular connections and interdisciplinary projects.
• Teaches ownership of educational experience in which students grow in both autonomy and the ability to work and interact together.
• Possess strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.

Credentials and Qualification

• Bachelor's or master's degree in a foreign language, literature, or equivalent may be required.
• Three years of teaching experience
• Proven written and verbal proficiency in Spanish
• Strong interpersonal as well as written and verbal communication skills.
• Well-organized and able to handle multiple responsibilities.
• Requires teaching up to five classes daily; average class size is approximately 14 students.
