Seacoast Bank is Hiring a BSA Enhanced Due Diligence Supervisor Near Miami, FL

JOB SUMMARY:

This position is primarily responsible for assisting the BSA New Accounts/Profiling Unit Manager in the coordination, supervision, review and monitoring processes of all higher risk new account product types and documentation updates in accordance with the Bank’s risk based BSA/AML/OFAC Program. Furthermore, this position assists with special projects and other department functions to meet regulatory and legal requirements with respect to the Bank Secrecy Act and its implementing regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Adheres to Seacoast Bank’s code of conduct.
  • Responsible for the oversight of the BSA Department’s CIP, KYC/CDD and Enhanced Due Diligence requirements towards complex accounts and higher risk (PEPs, PSPs, NGOs/Charities, PICs/IBCs, NBFIs) prospects and customers across all business lines.
  • Responsible for ensuring KYC/EDD documented is commensurate with risk profile of international prospects and existing international customers.
  • Responsible for the oversight of EDD periodic reviews, remediation and reporting to the Unit Manager.
  • Responsible for maintaining updated EDD and PEP list; ensuring risk based periodical reviews are conducted.
  • Responsible for reviewing, assessing, and documenting results towards internal and external escalations (negative news, PEPs, and potential sanctions hits).
  • Responsible for the oversight/approval of the EDD team’s reviews.
  • Support the Unit Manager on existing Business As Usual (BAU) KYC/EDD function enhancements to improve processes as needed.
  • Responsible for the ongoing quality control testing of targeted higher risk, complex customers and reporting to the Chief BSA/AML/OFAC Officer.
  • Effectively communicate verbally and in writing with account officers regarding EDD inquiries targeting international and higher risk customer types.
  • Assist the Unit Manager in maintaining the Desktop procedures current and updated.
  • Assist the Chief BSA/AML/OFAC Officer and Unit Manager with the preparation of materials for self- testing, independent third party and regulatory audits, exams, and Committee/Board reporting.
  • Assist the Chief BSA/AML/OFAC Officer with any projects to meet regulatory and legal requirements throughout the bank with respect to the Bank Secrecy Act and USA PATRIOT Act.
  • Responsible for acting as the conduit for disseminating instructions from the Chief BSA/AML/OFAC Officer and Unit Manager as it relates to international exposure.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • 10 years of related experience, with emphasis on BSA CIP/CDD/EDD higher risk customers and, leadership; banking experience and knowledge;
  • Extensive knowledge/experience towards higher risk customer structures;
  • Experience in managing and supervising risk based annual high risk reviews;
  • Knowledgeable of the laws applicable to money laundering, including the Bank Secrecy Act, the US Patriot Act, OFAC, and Suspicious Activity Reporting;
  • Strong analytical skills required to organize and analyze multiple, complete data sets as well a strong interpersonal and organizational skills;
  • Excellent attention to detail and “follow through” skills;
  • Strong technical and research skills and excel skills;
  • Excellent writing, analytical and communication skills;
  • Ability to understand and draw conclusions from research conducted;
  • Takes initiatives, is proactive, self-motivator, self-starter, result driven out of the box thinker;
  • Must have ongoing sense of urgency and high level of flexibility;
  • Maintains current on BSA/AML/OFAC news and events as well as regulatory
