Sea Pines Resort is Hiring a Manager of Resort Facilities Near Hilton Head Island, SC

The Sea Pines Resort is looking for a Manager of Resort Facilities.


JOB SUMMARY:

Manages Facilities Maintenance Operations, including maintaining all buildings/grounds, villas/homes, housekeeping and landscaping within the resort. Responsible for maintaining standards and regulatory requirements. Responsible for maintaining Sustainability Programs.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Position has overall responsibility for maintaining resort facilities and rental homes.
  • Responsible for maintaining physical building structures, mechanical, refrigeration, electrical, HVAC systems, life safety systems, and kitchen equipment. Physical appearance of interior operations, exterior landscaping, and parking areas.
  • Clear and effective communication skills, organization skills and advanced technology skills. Ability to learn and execute use of maintenance reporting and implementation software.
  • Leads and cultivates a team of maintenance employees and contract service vendor-partners.
  • Reviews financial reports and statements to determine how Engineering is performing against budget.
  • Ensures compliance with state, local and federal regulations.
  • Maintains property life safety systems (e.g., firefighting equipment, sprinkler systems, and alarm systems).
  • Manages maintenance employee payroll functions.
  • Other duties may be assigned by the Director of Resort Development.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • General carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical knowledge and repair abilities.
  • Computer skills including knowledge of Excel, Outlook, graphing techniques, Word, CMMS (ex: HotSOS), BAS (Business Automation System) and capable of learning energy monitoring systems including Energy Star.


KNOWLEDGE OF
:

  • Methods used in maintenance including basic knowledge of the following trades: carpentry, plumbing, glass replacement, HVAC, painting, masonry, appliance repair, and electrical wiring; standard practices and tools used in the maintenance and repair of building facilities; safety practices and procedures related to the building trades; basic math to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Various computer programs.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Use a variety of hand tools and equipment; communicate effectively in both oral and written form; receive and give instructions and prepare work orders and reports; measure distance and calculate quantities; read construction as built and survey drawings; manage and access building specifications and manufacturers recommended repair documents.
  • Review and identify projects needed to be serviced by outside contractors; maintain files and inventory records of supplies; set priorities; coordinate several projects simultaneously; plan and coordinate work schedules.
  • Assist in planning and directing the work of other employees that arrive on previous and following shifts.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with other staff and resort guests.

Other Characteristics:

  • Possession of a valid South Carolina driver's license.
  • Ability to work afternoons, evenings, nights and weekends as required.
  • Willingness to work outside (if necessary) in inclement weather.
  • Maintain appearance and able to interact with guest and inform them of activities that are going on within the resort.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervises all employees within Facilities Maintenance Department; Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE :

Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university preferred; 3-5 years related supervisory experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Need thorough understanding of project cost systems, staffing requirements, and inventory control. Need good understanding of maintenance and construction requirements including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, and building codes.
