GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will operate, monitor, maintain, and trouble-shoot the biogas facility and its processes. Work involves responsibility for the technical aspects of plant operations, in compliance with state regulations. Work is performed with considerable independence under the direction of the Lead Operator, subject to review through reports and results achieved. This is a safety-sensitive position.

· 2 years relevant manufacturing process experience
· Biogas operations experience: 1 year (Preferred)
GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES
To operate, monitor, maintain, and trouble-shoot the biogas facility and its processes. Work involves responsibility for the technical aspects of plant operations, in compliance with state regulations. Work is performed with considerable independence under the direction of the Lead Operator, subject to review through reports and results achieved. This is a safety-sensitive position.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Operate and troubleshoot the facility
· Perform daily checks and walkthroughs
· Perform all aspects of sampling, monitoring, and testing
· Perform the installation, maintenance and repair of the physical plant and pump stations and all their components.
· Assist in the performance of regular and unscheduled maintenance and repairs on all plant equipment and machinery.
· On call to respond to emergencies and breakdowns at the plant and pump stations.
· Conduct the necessary weekend checks of the treatment plant on a rotating basis.
· Perform all work in conformance to Occupational Safety and Health Act regulations.
· Maintain open communications with the Lead Operator regarding the process and pump stations operation and malfunctions, as well as make recommendations for repairs and improvements to these systems.
· Actively participates in the plant safety program.
· Utilizes work orders and work requests through CMMS software.
·Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
· Knowledge of the methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in the operation, maintenance, inspection, repair, and installation of anaerobic digestion facilities and biomethane upgrading components.
· Knowledge of the mechanical, biological, and chemical processes involved in the operations of manure digestion.
· Knowledge of the occupational hazards in biogas plants and safety measures to be implemented.
· Have a thorough knowledge of mechanical equipment and the ability to diagnose and correct equipment malfunctions.
· Have a working knowledge of basic machinery preventive maintenance and repair.
· Ability to work with raw manure and chemicals using normal protective equipment.
· Basic knowledge of SCADA systems and basic Microsoft Office software
· Ability to perform, analyze, and interpret laboratory tests for the purpose of making operational adjustments.
· Ability to work as part of a team and deal effectively with people at all levels.
· Ability to work in a wide variety of weather conditions and exposure to the elements.
· Ability to lift and move heavy objects (50 lbs.) short distances (100 feet or less).
· Ability to work in small, cramped spaces and comply with confined space entry procedures.
· Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
· Ability to work with independence and to make routine decisions on the operation of the plant processes and equipment during the Lead Operator’s absence.
