Job Description:
South Carolina Rural Water Association (SCRWA), is seeking a highly motivated professional responsible for conducting technical assistance for SC small rural communities located throughout the state. The job responsibilities include but are not limited to identifying communities who are affected by emerging contaminants including PFAS and providing technical assistance so that these communities can mitigate the effects of impacted water supplies.
The Water Treatment Project Technician reviews, interprets, and analyzes potential impacts to communities leading from emerging contaminants being present in their water supply or threatening to do so. They consult with system staff, primacy agency officials, engineers and vendors to identify eligible communities that can benefit from this program, potential technological advances or treatment and available emerging contaminant mitigation funding to enhance future system resilience. They initiate and review findings of investigations, surveys, and studies to compare and evaluate possible courses of action and develop and implement training and workshops for system staff and the general public in relation to the source water concern.
Minimum Qualifications:
At least 5 years' experience in water, wastewater, environmental, regulatory or a combination thereof
Valid US Driver’s License
Reliable vehicle and willingness to travel extensively state-wide
Compensation:
Starting salary range: $50,000 to 60,000 depending on experience.
