Inspector_____________________________________________________________________________________Full Job DescriptionScrap Metal Services, LLC in Chicago Heights, IL is looking to hire an Inspector. This employee is responsible for using safety devices and protective equipment to handle and inspect scrap metal. Requirements:
- Must be safety focused
- Able to work in a fast-paced working environment
- Must be able to work outdoors in types of weather
- 1 to 3 years experience of operations (scrap handling preferred)
- Good hand/eye coordination
- Able to lift up to 50lbs
- Must pass E-Verify work authorization and drug screening
- Handling and moving objects: using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials and manipulating items.
- Monitor processes, materials or surroundings: monitoring and reviewing information from materials, events, or the environment, to detect or assess problems.
- Performing general physical activities: performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms, legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping and handling of materials.
- Getting information: observing, receiving and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.
- Inspection of in/outbound loads: receive, inspect and grade in/outbound loads of scrap metals. Direct driver throughout facility an designate dumping area. Identify non-conforming and/or out of specification materials.
