Scottsdale USD 48 is Hiring a Senior Facilities Services Worker Grounds (Full-Time) - Facilities & Building Services (258911) Near Scottsdale, AZ

PAY GRADE: I

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

POSITION OBJECTIVE:

This is the classification level that performs daily work crew leader activities. Assists in training employees. Plans work for small, routine maintenance activities and work groups. Coordinates equipment and supplies with work activities.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: (These duties are a representative sample; position assignments may vary.)

  1. Serves as a crew leader to lower level staff, which may include: prioritizing and assigning work; monitoring the performance of lower level staff; training staff on work methods and procedures; and, participating in performance evaluations.
  2. Performs manual labor activities, which includes: emptying trash cans; gathering materials and equipment; placing materials and/or equipment in proper locations; sweeping; setting up furniture and/or equipment; digging; cleaning; moving furnishings; painting; and/or, performing other related tasks. 
  3. Assists and responds to internal customer requests for assistance, inquiries, and/or other related requests; and responds to emergency situations as required to ensure the safety of students and staff.
  4. Monitors the activities of contracted cleaning companies to ensure compliance with established standards and guidelines.
  5. Maintains a variety of logs, forms, and written communications of activities within assigned area of responsibility.
  6. Maintains facilities, vehicles, and/or equipment utilized in daily activities; troubleshoots, maintains and performs routine repairs to equipment; monitors inventory of supplies.
  7. Coordinates activities with external vendors who are responsible for performing maintenance and/or custodial activities on behalf of the District.
  8. Processes shipping and receiving receipts, purchase orders, and bills of ladings.
  9. Monitors supplies and inventory to ensure appropriate levels for the performance of facilities and maintenance support activities; recommends the purchase of supplies and inventory.
  10. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: (positions in this class typically require):

High School Diploma, or G.E.D., and two years of relevant maintenance experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

LICENSING REQUIREMENTS: (positions in this class typically require):

Licensing Requirements:

· Valid Arizona Driver’s License.

Some positions may require:

· Pesticide Applicator’s License.

KNOWLEDGE: (position requirements at entry):

Knowledge of:

· Advanced principles and practices in assigned area of responsibility;

· Performing routine carpentry and groundskeeping tasks;

· Comprehending written materials;

· Performing routine preventative maintenance of tools, equipment, and vehicles;

· Performing basic mathematical calculations;

· Driving a motor vehicle;

· Reading and understanding elementary blueprints, sketches, plans, diagrams and other instructional/directive materials;

· Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Positions in this class typically require: climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.

Heavy Work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of forces constantly to move objects.

Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, vibrations, fumes, odors, dusts, gases, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, and intense noises.

Return To Work Retirees will have an hourly rate approximately 9% lower than listed below without falling below minimum wage.
