Scottsdale USD 48 is Hiring a 1.0FTE TIPP Grant Prevention Coach - District Wide Near Phoenix, AZ

Two positions are available.

PAY GRADE: Certified Salary Schedule

FLSA STATUS: Exempt

POSITION OBJECTIVE:

Under the direction of the Director of Support Services, the Prevention Coach will support school teams in fully implementing Tier I and Tier II trauma informed and social emotional learning supports with fidelity and sustainability.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: (These duties are a representative sample; position assignments may vary.)

  • Oversee Trauma Informed Primary Prevention (TIPP) grant implementation activities and evaluation
  • Provide school-wide-in-service education programs for staff
  • Coordinate and assist all staff members who are providing prevention/early intervention services and programs for students 
  • Maintain and report appropriate data and records.
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Support Coordinator for alignment and sustainability of prevention/early intervention programs
  • Provide for parental, staff and community involvement
  • Establish and maintain relationships with students, employees and community members and vendors
  • Consults with teachers, parents, other personnel and/or outside professionals for the purpose of providing requested information, developing plans for services and/or making recommendations.
  • Researches resources and methods (e.g. intervention and treatment techniques, assessment tools and methods, community resources, etc.) for the purpose of determining appropriate approach for addressing students’ specific needs.
  • Education, training, experience and knowledge in scientifically based prevention and intervention programs at the Tier 2 level
  • Training and experience in the evaluation and determination of needs for individuals and groups
  • Experience conducting classroom observations and providing performance feedback to teachers
  • Training and experience in the provision of mental health services to meet identified needs for individuals, families and groups
  • Experience in conducting trainings, workshops and classroom presentations
  • Experience facilitating Student Assistance Programs (SAP)
  • Analyze school level data to determine areas of strength and need
  • Knowledge of and sensitivity to ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic influences on the student
  • Training, education and clinical skills in intervention, assessment and referrals
  • Knowledge of computer applications for data analysis and data storage, statistical principles of data reporting
  • Familiar with the principles of system change
  • Skilled in the area of consultation with families and school personnel
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: (positions in this class typically require):

  • Master’s Degree in job related area
  • Job related experience is required

LICENSING REQUIREMENTS: (positions in this class typically require):

Licensing Requirements:

  • Arizona Department of Public Safety Fingerprint Clearance Card

KNOWLEDGE: (position requirements at entry):

  • Perform advanced math;
  • Review and interpret highly technical information, write technical materials, and/or speak persuasively to implement desired actions;
  • Analyze situations to define issues and draw conclusions.

Specific knowledge required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job includes:

  • Pertinent codes, policies, regulations and/or laws.

  • Perform multiple, highly complex, technical tasks with a need to routinely upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions.

  • Ability is also required to work with a significant diversity of individuals and/or groups;
  • Work with data of widely varied types and/or purposes;
  • Utilize a variety of job-related equipment.
  • In working with others, independent problem solving is required to analyze issues and create action plans.
  • Problem solving with data requires analysis based on organizational objectives; and problem solving with equipment is limited.

Specific abilities required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include:

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Positions in this class typically require: reaching, standing, walking, finger dexterity, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.

Medium Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negoligible amount of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light Work.
