Position Summary: Perform administrative and certain clinical duties under the direction of a Physician.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

·Rooming and preparing patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests; taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature; reporting patient history summary.

·Drawing blood.

·Preparing and administering medications, as directed by Physician.

·Authorizing prescription refills, as directed.

·Assisting Physician during examinations.

·Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens.

·Contacting patients regarding lab results.

·Secures patient information and maintains patient confidentiality by completing and safeguarding medical records; completing diagnostic coding and procedure coding.

·Keep exam rooms neat and orderly, and fully stocked.

·Placing patients on NST equipment and monitoring progress.

·Perform telephone triage according to the limits set by the Physicians based on knowledge and experience.

Other Responsibilities:

·Scheduling appointments.

·Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock and giving supply orders to Front Desk Manager

Education/Experience: Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program; a minimum of three years of experience in the Healthcare industry; or an acceptable combination of education and experience, which must include the MA certification, or the commitment to obtain certification within 6 months of hire.
