Support Staff Floater Job Description:

Scottsdale Academy is a child development center for children Infants through VPK/5 years old. Hours of operation are 7 a.m. – 6 p.m., Monday – Friday, open year-round, and closed for major holidays.

We are looking for a qualified Support Staff Floater to help with the cleanliness and upkeep in and around the facility, as well as assist in classrooms during lunch breaks, teachers’ appointments, and to uphold required staff-to-child ratios.

Desired qualifications for this position include great love and patience for children of all preschool ages, ability to work cohesively with all staff members, as well as someone that takes the initiative to do what is needed to uphold the standards set forth by Scottsdale Academy and its Management team.

Responsibilities:
- Maintain an overall clean and safe preschool consistent with DCF health and safety standards.- Clean the interior of the facility including, but not limited to, floors, carpet, rugs, windows, doors, and walls.
- Disinfect commonly used items including door handles, classroom tables, toilets, bathrooms, etc.
- Maintain outdoor grounds by helping to keep toys and playground areas clean and safe, and by communicating necessary maintenance needs to keep everything in working order.
- When needed in a classroom setting to fill in for ratio purposes, execute: daily classroom schedule, age- appropriate proper hygiene, laying out of lunches, snack distribution, rest opportunities, as well as other elements that may not be listed here.- Ability to engage children and hold their attention.- Communicate with parents appropriately at end of the day when placed in a classroom for closing purposes.
- Understand all school emergency procedures and protocol.

Requirements:
- Experience in a school/preschool setting (preferred)- Ability to create a loving atmosphere when working with young children- Excellent communication skills- Patient, friendly and reliable- Flexible and able to multi-task- Ability to work well with co-workers and administration- Positive attitude and self-starter- DCF 45 hours (preferred)- Level II Background Screening will be conducted through Florida’s Background Screening Clearinghouse

If you have resided outside the state of Florida within the past five years, those state background checks will also be required. The preceding is at the employee’s expense and can be taken out of the first paycheck if requested.
