Scott Electric has a current opening at our Greensburg branch for a Buyer. (M-F 800am-500pm)

Responsibilities may include: You will be expected to maintain customer service levels and minimize inventory dollar investment by managing appropriate inventory levels across multiple warehouse locations. You will be responsible for constantly analyzing inventory levels and cost of goods. You will have to maintain relationships with existing vendors and establish relationships with new vendors. You will prepare purchase orders, transfer material between warehouses, and be responsible for finding new items to add to inventory.

Job Duties include but are not limited to:

· Maintain competitive product pricing by negotiating the best possible cost.

• Decisions selecting the most suitable suppliers in terms of reliability, cost-efficiency, and product quality.
• Forecasting and monitoring inventory levels (cycle counts) and determining purchasing needs on a weekly basis.
• Reacting to market conditions.
• Coordinate with suppliers to deliver orders on time, building and maintaining positive supplier relations.

· Purchase inventory by preparing and submitting purchase orders

· Manage existing inventory with an emphasis on a high rate of turn

· Stock balance via transfer orders between warehouse locations

· Identify and recommend new items by investigating potential suppliers; researching the competition, market trends, profitability and item availability

· Assist to resolve shipment discrepancies by mediating vendor/manufacturing issues

· Maintain existing and seek out new vendor partnerships

Skills/Requirements:

• Deep knowledge of inventory and supply chain management
• Interest in market dynamics along with business sense
• Strong critical thinking and negotiation skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and purchasing software
• Ability to gather and analyze data and to work with figures
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Solid judgment along with decision-making skills
• Strong leadership capabilities
• Strong problem-solving skills are required
• Exhibit accuracy and high attention to detail
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and criminal background screening
• Must have a valid driver’s license

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field, or equivalent in related work experience.
• Experience in purchasing.
