The Scott County Family Y is a powerful association of men, women and children of all ages and from all walks of life joined together by a shared passion: to strengthen the foundations of community. With a commitment to nurturing the potential of kids, promoting healthy living and fostering a sense of social responsibility, the Y ensures that every individual has access to the essentials needed to learn, grow and thrive.
We have seven locations: North, West, Davenport, Bettendorf, Camp Abe Lincoln, Childcare and Maquoketa.
Under the general direction of the Youth Sports Director, the Sports Official is responsible for the health, safety, and welfare of each child enrolled in the program. He or she demonstrates leadership, shows active participation and enthusiasm on the court or field. He or she also serves as a positive and wholesome role model to all participants and other staff in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Scott County Family Y. Sports he or she will officiate include:
Soccer, Basketball, Floor Hockey, Flag Football, T-Ball, Softball, Volleyball, Track, Indoor Soccer and Indoor Baseball. Sports events will occur at various locations in Iowa Quad Cities.
No experience refereeing is necessary but the person must have knowledge of the sport and basic understanding of the rules.
* Certifications required within 60 days of hire date -training provided by the YMCA if not currently certified.
* Illinois or Iowa High School Athletic Union certification as
an official preferred, but not required
Physical Qualifications: Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Be able to run to be able to keep up with the pace of play
