The job of Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services is done for the purpose(s) of planning, developing, implementing and evaluating instructional programs for all District students; providing leadership and supervision of curriculum and instruction; fostering continuous school improvement in academic content standards and assessment, teaching and learning, professional development, parent engagement; ensuring compliance with policies, practices and procedures.
This position reports to the Superintendent.

KNOWLEDGE (position requirements at entry):
KNOWLEDGE is required to perform advanced math; review and interpret highly technical information, write technical materials, and/or speak persuasively to implement desired actions; and analyze situations to define issues and draw conclusions. Specific knowledge required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job includes: pertinent codes, policies, regulations and/or laws.
SKILLS (position requirements at entry):
SKILLS are required to perform multiple, technical tasks with a need to occasionally upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skills required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: people interaction skills, operate standard office equipment; plan and manage projects; utilize pertinent software applications.
ABILITY (position requirements at entry):
ABILITY is required to schedule a significant number of activities, meetings, and/or events; gather, collate, and/or classify data; and consider a number of factors when using equipment. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Positions in this class typically require: stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time.
Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, odors, chemicals, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions, and intense noises.
