Your day.

As a Clinical Engineering Tech II you need to know how to:

• Perform safety testing, performance testing, and preventive maintenance to meet NFPA, OSHA, and The Joint Commission compliance on medical equipment.
• Coordinate and plan installations and follow up on equipment recalls. Perform maintenance inspections on all electronic medical equipment. Ensure all equipment state and federal guidelines.
• Perform electronic repairs, according to manufacturers’ specifications, in order to offer providers and other medical staff equipment that is 100% operational. Repair equipment that does now pass annual testing.
• Replace defective components to ensure minimal damage to components. Perform operational checkout and safety testing of all repaired equipment.
• Complete proper documentation for work requests.
• Train and mentor Biomedical Tech I's.
• Receive mentoring and training from Biomedical Equipment Tech III's.
• Respond immediately to emergency repairs, including after hours and weekends.
• Communicate the nature of repair to the department supervisor as well as an estimate of the possible down-time. Inform personnel as to equipment status after completion of repairs.
• Promote mission, vision, and values of SCL Health, and abide by service behavior standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Your experience.

• Completion of a two (2) year approved Biomedical Electronics program or comparable education or military training/experience, required
• Documented completion of factory training on a variety of basic and complex pieces of imaging equipment, required
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience with the repair and maintenance of medical equipment, required
