As a pharmacy technician at our community pharmacy, you will participate in patient-centered care coordination alongside other healthcare professionals. Your daily responsibilities will include operating the cash register, handling telephone inquiries, receiving prescriptions from customers, dispensing completed orders, recording inventory shipments, and processing customer sales transactions.

Essential Functions:

1. Commitment to creating an atmosphere of excellent customer service, making both in-person and telephone customers feel welcome, important, and appreciated.

2. Set the standard for a high work ethic, productivity, and commitment by exemplifying these traits and leading by example.

3. Maintain accurate records of all pharmacy transactions, ensuring compliance with applicable state and federal laws, rules, and regulations, as well as maintaining an organized work environment.

4. Demonstrate exceptional listening and speaking skills, serving as an effective intermediary between customers and the pharmacist, effectively relaying information between the two parties.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Accurately type and fill prescriptions.

2. Assist with prior authorization processes.

3. Provide support in any situation that arises during the daily operation of the pharmacy.

4. Collaborate with the pharmacist to ensure prescriptions are accurately filled.

5. Receive written prescriptions or refill requests.

6. Effectively manage medication inventory.

7. Maintain a general understanding of state and federal pharmacy laws.

8. Possess knowledge of insurance policies and assist with related issues.

9. Enter prescription data into computerized patient profiles and process prescription orders received via telephone.

10. Communicate with HMOs and other insurance providers regarding billing and reimbursement matters.

11. Maintain an organized and tidy work environment.

12. Proficiently utilize computer systems and possess good communication skills.

13. Prior experience preferred, but we are willing to train the right person.

14. Provide quality customer service both in-store and over the telephone.

Job Requirements:

1. Valid NJ Pharmacy Technician registration.

2. Bilingual: Proficiency in both Spanish and English for effective communication.

3. Minimum of 2 years' experience as a pharmacy technician.

4. Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

5. Familiarity with pharmacy management software programs such as PrimeRX (Micro Merchant).

6. Previous experience in a pharmacy setting is an asset.
