Bench Technician I - Duties and Responsibilities
Position Summary:The Bench Technician 1 is responsible for the repair of the Lottery terminals and their associated peripherals. The position provides technician support to the field, emergency field support with service calls, assisting with shipping and receiving, and providing parts inventory control to the site in which they work.
Responsibilities/Essential Functions
Performs repair functions associated with the Lottery terminal and all associated peripherals under direct supervision.
Provide technical assistance via phone and on-site support.
Responsible for ensuring all equipment repaired at bench is reliable and all updagrades (ECO’s) are completed.
Ensures that the field personnel are inventoried with an adequate terminal level.
Ships defective boards, sub assemblies, and any other equipment in a timely manner.
Ability to compile and analyze statistical information relating to field service efficiency.
Assists in escalated situations where additional staffing is required in the field to help with service calls, bench repair, or special events.
Provides inventory control of all terminals, peripheral, communications parts and consumables
Enters all repair data into Bench Repair database daily or as needed.
Maintains an acceptable level of customer service.
Helps to develop the diagnosing and repair capabilities of the field staff
Performs routine maintenance on company vehicle.
Maintains an acceptable driving record in accordance with the motor vehicle policy.
Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Position Requirements/Skills & Abilities
An Associate degree in related field or 1-3 years of equivalent experience.
Ability to communicate with all levels of personnel.
Ability to work all shifts.
Ability to work overtime.
Ability to work holidays and weekends.
Ability to lift and move up to 100 lbs.
Ability to push, pull, and maneuver heavy equipment in excess of 500 pounds.
Ability to climb onto or off a ladder.
Intermediate computer software and hardware technologies. Must be able to navigate through Windows.
Ability to quickly learn and understand new technologies.
