POSITION OVERVIEW

Science 37’s mission is to accelerate clinical research by enabling universal trial access for patients. Through our solutions; The Metasite™ and Patient Recruitment, we accelerate enrollment by expanding the reach of clinical trials to patients beyond the traditional site and rigorously qualifying patients prior to referring them to a traditional site. Our solutions are powered by a proprietary technology stack with in-house medical and operational experts that enhance quality through standardized workflows and best-in-class study orchestration. 

The Director of Digital Experience and Marketing Technology will strategically manage Science 37’s digital assets, marketing technology stack and platform ecosystem. This position will play a key role in developing a centralized and democratized ecosystem that provides a unified view of the patient, with multi-touch attribution and next best actions. This role will be responsible for delivering a multi-year roadmap to achieve digital first experiences and operations for Science 37. This individual will be accountable to ensure that the solutions we develop are aligned with the business needs and business outcomes – ensuring we can maximize ROI through digital first means. This role will collaborate across our Marketing, Sales, Operations and IT delivery teams. Successful candidate brings deep experience in translating business and customer requirements into technology needs, and how it needs to fit into the overall Marketing Stack.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties include but are not limited to:

  1. Responsible for defining the business requirements across marketing and customer experience for all digital properties.
  2. POC for marketing technologies, which include, but are not limited to website, email, SMS, marketing automation and CRM
  3. Responsible for optimizing and testing the end-to-end patient experience and journey
  4. Deliver roadmap across the digital solutions in partnership marketing and sales leadership and IT leadership – ensure alignment with product engineering roadmaps and IT enterprise architecture roadmaps.
  5. Translate technical goals into strategic roadmaps and well-defined requirements, that evolve to include emerging best of breed capabilities.
  6. Lead technical efforts for marketing with deep partnership with the IT organization. Define the approach and workstreams, act as single POC and leader across the marketing organization and orchestrate the delivery.
  7. Have a constant pulse on the latest trends, a strong understanding of the Martech vendor landscape, and provide insight on the latest capabilities required across our core digital architecture.
  8. Support across the business to scope and define the uses cases for our digital roadmap that will have highest impact.
  9. Define digital solutions across content management, web management and delivery, digital asset management, and digital event experiences. 
  10. Provide the right balance of business and technical leadership, helping to bridge the gap between business need and Martech capability and capacity.
  11. Define the governance principles and adherence for the ‘buy vs. build’ approach for our digital landscape.
  12. Act as a senior subject matter exert on cloud-based infrastructure for our marketing and customer experience technologies.
  13. Define and implement enabling capabilities, infrastructure and processes to ensure seamless execution, measurement and continuous improvement of Science 37’s recruitment programs
  14. Support integrated digital and CRM programs, patient experience and metrics (examples of working system knowledge include Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Facebook, LinkedIn, Marketo)
  15. Complete marketing operations responsibilities including but not limited to: data segmenting/collection and list segmentation
  16. Use a metrics-based approach to deliver highly targeted programs that execute upon goal
  17. Use listening/monitoring tools, reporting systems, and success metrics to test and optimize content across all channels
  18. Test all emails for proper rendering on email clients and mobile devices
  19. Ensure all campaign tracking is in place and accurate for all emails and forms
  20. Support digital media, including metrics, dashboards, analytics, and optimizations
  21. Help optimize site, channels, and processes to ensure seamless execution, measurement, and continuous improvement – monitor, report and analyze performance with insights on refinement to drive continuous improvement and adapt to changing digital environment and algorithms
  22. Partner with analytics team to monitor KPIs and reporting frameworks
  23. Responsible for email campaign creation, execution, and management

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

Qualifications 

  1. 10 years of experience in digital experience, marketing technology, Customer Data Platforms, Omni-channel Personalization, and digital signals and lead management processes.
  2. Experience in product marketing, digital marketing and sales enablement
  3. Advanced or higher level of proficiency in Email/SMS design and deployment applications
  4. Strong understanding of user experience and analytics 
  5. Ability to manage complex organizational delivery and executive stakeholder management.
  6. Ability to speak both with IT and Technical Leadership as well as Sales and Marketing Leadership.
  7. Work experience within the high-tech industry and specifically SaaS based products.

Skills/Competencies

  1. Strong communication and presentation skills – Excellent interpersonal skills and professional demeanor. Must have the ability to communicate accurately and clearly, both orally and in writing. Experience in working cross-functionally with agencies, vendors, internal partners, and others to gather requirements and document processes while providing updates (weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly) of activities.
  2. Computer skills - Working knowledge of MS Office suite and Google applications. Able to generate business correspondence, create forms and generate reports as required. Proficiency with MS PowerPoint, front-end/back-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScriipt, PHP, SQL, API’s and webhooks required.
  3. Superior organizational skills and accuracy - Keeping track of items, creating and developing sensible strategies and physical solutions for facilitating work flow, cleanliness, and efficiency in the office. Detail-oriented and careful about quality of work 
  4. Project management- Ability to manage projects of varying complexity.
  5. Time management skills- Adapt to new problems and readjust as needed to complete an assignment. Proven ability to multitask at a high level and the ability to prioritize and adapt to changing deadlines and needs. Capable of juggling several running projects.
  6. Team management and collaborative capabilities – Commitment to collaboration, within and across departments. Leverages each team member’s unique background and perspective to achieve team goals while providing clear direction and accountabilities.
  7. Interpersonal Savvy - Understand interpersonal and group dynamics and react in an effective and tactful manner. Has a range of interpersonal skills and approaches with ability to select a best-fit approach. 
  8. Practices professionalism and integrity in all actions – Demonstrated ability to foster concepts of teamwork, cooperation, self- control, and flexibility to get the work done. The ability to adapt to a rapidly changing work environment. Able to successfully work in a decentralized team environment. Skilled in situational responsive decision-making.

Capabilities 

  1. Up to 20% travel, as needed, for project team meetings, client presentations and other professional meetings/conferences as needed
  2. Ability to communicate in English (both verbal and written)

REPORTING

Position reports to SVP, Patient and Provider Networks who will also assign projects, provide general direction and guidance. Incumbent is expected to perform duties and responsibilities with minimal supervision.
