JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE / DEPARTMENT: Housekeeping Supervisor
POSITION TYPE: Full Time Year Round
SUPERVISORY: Yes SUPERVISED BY: Housekeeping Manager
POSITION SUMMARY: This is a supervisory position that requires the ability to promote teamwork and consistency. This position requires consistent review of accountability. Responsible for the supervision of housekeeping teams including hotel lead, condo lead, and house person lead. Attention to detail is a must.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Maintain a well groomed, professional appearance, adhering to Schweitzer Property Management dress code. Lead the housekeeping team in cleaning, preparing, and maintaining accommodations for guest occupancy. Prepare materials for, and participate in, employee training and development, health and safety meetings, and other departmental meetings. Room inspections, assisting in all work zones, driving company vehicles, and helping guest with arrival and departures. Provide an honest, and open environment in which employees can grow with positive reinforcement. Lead by example.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform other tasks as assigned by the Housekeeping Manager, Lodging Operations Manager, and/or Director of Lodging. Knowledge of Schweitzer Mountain Resort facilities, services, and activities is a must.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
SKILLS: Leadership, supervisory, communication, and
knowledge of safe cleaning procedures and housekeeping
tasks.
EDUCATION: High School diploma or the equivalent
EXPERIENCE: At least one year housekeeping experience required. Supervisory experience preferred.
LICENSE: Valid insurable driver's license required
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position demands combined walking/standing/kneeling
For up to 10 hours per shift with breaks provided. Lifting frequently, up to 25 lbs.; rarely, up to 35 lbs. Squatting, kneeling, bending: frequently; reaching above shoulder level: occasionally; climbing/twisting: rarely; Hands: grasping, pushing/pulling of carts; Feet: foot control occasionally for vehicles and vacuums. Worksite: 90-95% inside, 5-10% outside, exposed to all temperatures and moisture. Hazards: cleaning chemicals and snow/ice. Sensory skills required: vision, hearing, touching, and speech. Requires computer/ telephone/paperwork, usually done in a sitting position.
