Quality Assurance Coordinator

The Schwebel Baking Company is looking for a Quality Coordinator to support our bakery in Hebron Ohio (outside Columbus, Ohio).

This position is responsible for supervising and coordinating activities of workers engaged in producing quality products.

This position will interface daily with all supervisors, in addition to office employees and those in sanitations, receiving, maintenance, and shipping.

Thorough knowledge is required of food quality, customer expectations, safety and sanitation procedures, and all laws and regulations.

Duties / Responsibilities :

• Reports and take necessary action to prevent food safety, legality, and quality problems from occurring.
• Works closely with the Sanitation, Maintenance and Supervision Departments to enforce all programs and procedures outlined in the Food Safety and Quality Manual to support compliance with the FSSC 22000 for Food Safety
• Administer quality programs and be familiar with FSSC, BK standards or other experience in GFSI standards.
• Responsible for reporting and taking any necessary action to prevent food safety and food quality problems from occurring
• Assures consistent quality of production by developing and enforcing good manufacturing practices, validating processes, providing documentation, and managing staff as HACCP team site lead .
• Responsible for conducting implemented Food Safety and Quality employee Trainings, Monthly Food Safety meetings and corresponding preventative and corrective measures to assure compliance with all food safety and quality programs.
• Inspect product for compliance with FDA codes of conduct and FSSC 22000 third party certification requirements as well as ensure equality of all products are made to the expectation of Schwebel’s
• Create and monitor reports for quality assurance and development
• Conduct scheduled Environmental Monitoring sampling for analysis
• Implemented policies and procedures to assure quality of the product
• Assist Corporate QA Manager in facilitating meetings with customers or stakeholders when necessary.
• Analyze customer complaints and feedback and data trends to search for areas of opportunity and correspond complaints internally with all department leads to resolution
• Coach, counsel, train, and develop employee skills while leading and motivating employees to maximize productivity and minimize compliance deficiencies.
• Conduct internal audits during the shift to verify product quality and safety and Quality Management System is followed to codified standards and direct plant supervision in inspections and food safety / quality records and documentation completion.

Required Skills / Abilities :

• Experience in a food manufacturing or similar operation in a Quality Coordination capacity
• HACCP / PCQI Certifications required- Company provided training available
• Environmental Monitoring Training- Company provided training available
• Must have worked in a manufacturing facility 2 years
• Must have strong attention to details
• Must have a high school diploma; Associate degree preferred but not required
• Previously management or leadership experience is preferred
• Must be able to handle high volumes of operations and comply will all company regulations
• Demonstrate strong drive to contribute to all projects

Physical :

Able to lift up to 50lbs, bend, twist, walk, stand, kneel, stoop, climb steps

Additional Information :

Willingness to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Must be self-directed and able to work without close supervision.
