Schuylkill Technology Center-North Campus is Hiring an Electrical Instructor Near Frackville, PA

Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline with an Instructional Teaching or Vocational Educational Certification or be eligible to become certified. In additional, candidates must possess a minimum of four years of industry related work experience within the field of Industrial Electricity and Maintenance.

. A. Minimum 21 years of age.

B. High School diploma required.

C. Post-secondary credentials for the program required preferred.

D. Good communication, organization and interpersonal skills required.

E. Documented and related, relevant work experience (2-6 years depending on type of certification) to the area of teaching assignment required.

F. Successful completion of the Occupational Competency Assessment as required by Temple University and the Department of Education

G. Physical mobility required to perform assigned responsibilities and manage the instructional area.

H. All pre-employment requirements (drug screen, physical, Criminal Record and Child Abuse Record checks)

Reports to: Director of CTE, Assistant Director of CTE

Job Goal: Professionally fulfill the educational goals and objectives in conjunction with the educational philosophy as prescribed by the Schuylkill Technology Center Joint Operating Committee

Responsibilities:

1. Implement the educational program within the philosophy and policies approved by the Board and the guidelines established by the Director.

2. Maintain a professional attitude and appearance.

3. Model a sound work ethic and regular attendance.

4. Attain and maintain teacher credentials as required by Pennsylvania Department of Education Teacher Certification guidelines.

5. Participate in regular professional development activities to keep abreast of advances in technology, curriculum, and instructional delivery techniques; and remain current in all areas of the field of expertise.

6. Develop, revise, and implement the curriculum as it pertains to each instructional area in accordance with established guidelines and format based on PDE approved Task List, PA Standards, and local policies.

7. Develop, revised, and implement instructional activities and materials to support the curriculum.

8. Utilize a diversity of instructional delivery methods in order to motivate students and promote learning.

9. Mentor students and provide counseling and/or refer students to appropriate school specialists.

10. Provide and maintain a well-organized, safe learning environment.

11. Prepare unit plans/lesson plans and provide lesson plans for short-term substitutes.

12. Maintain daily attendance records and daily instructional plans.

13. Implement and maintain a system of student discipline and encourage appropriate

Student behavior.

14. Maintain student records and communicate student progress to parent/guardians, administration, and districts when necessary.

15. Develop and promote student leadership and citizenship through the integration of vocational student organization activities into the curriculum.

16. Provide job placement information and assistance as requested by the Cooperative Education office.

17. Maintain and conduct Occupational Advisory Council meetings at least twice annually to seek recommendations for curriculum program improvements, safety, and equipment.

18. Attend all scheduled mandatory after-school events as per the CBA (i.e. Open House, OAC, Senior Night, New Student Orientation, etc.)

19. Implement sound fiscal procedures within the instructional area in accordance with approved financial parameters and complete budget sheets as requested.

20. Prepare and submit report, information, budgets, and inventory as required.

21. Maintain instructional equipment and provide for repair as needed.

23. Reads and follows assigned student’s Individualized Education Programs (IEP).

24. Adhere to all policies enacted by the Joint Operating committee and guidelines established by the Director.

25. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of CTE and/or Assistant Director of CTE.

Method of Evaluation:

Instructor shall be evaluated in accordance with the board policy governing evaluation of personnel.

Terms of Employment:

As per the Collective Bargaining Agreement established by the Board; Full time position, schedule congruent with the school year calendar approved by the Joint Operating committee.

Pay: $42,967.00 - $55,000.00 per year
