SUMMARY

The Operations Manager is responsible for achieving customer satisfaction, productivity objectives, operating schedules, and vendor relations and economic goals. Responsibilities also include cultivating a cohesive environment where work-life balance is encouraged through safety adherence, team values and supporting personal commitments to realize organizational success.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Develop and communicate expectations to direct and indirect reports.
  • Partner with Director of Michigan Operations (DMO) and others to achieve organizational goals.
  • Ensure inventory, scheduling, and the shipping and receiving of materials are completed timely to effectively manage costs as well as implementing contingency plans when necessary.
  • Review key operating indicators (KOI’s) and utilizes data to maximize process efficiencies.
  • Responsible for scheduling and leading monthly L10 safety and biweekly operations meetings.
  • Ensure cost and profitability objectives are achieved as determined by goals and objectives.
  • Ensure employee discussions, documentation, and performance evaluations are performed in accordance with company policies and procedures. Partners with Talent Management Retention (TMR) representative(s) when necessary.
  • Partner with HR as necessary for corrective actions including termination of employment.
  • Comply with ISO quality procedures which includes but is not limited to competence, awareness, training, and planning of product realization.
  • Ensure all operations are performed in accordance with established company policies and procedures as well as federal, state, and local ordinances.
  • Ensure adherence to OSHA safety standards and environmental regulations in partnership with the Health, Safety and Environmental Department.
  • Update the labor allocation report and send to the DMO weekly.
  • Purchase parts and supplies as needed in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Assist maintenance department as needed.
  • Travel less than 25% of the time domestically and possibly international, as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • 3-5 years of prior experience in management.
  • 2-4 year degree in management preferred.
  • Manufacturing and/or industrial recycling experience preferred.


SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Strong attention to detail by way of organizational, time management, analytical, observational and active listening skills.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, procedures and work instructions
  • Ability to orally communicate in a clear, concise, professional manner with internal and external customers, government officials.
  • Familiar with inventory software, manufacturing software and Microsoft Office or similar software

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Routinely required to stand and walk; use hands to handle and feel; reach with arms and hands; as well as climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
  • Routinely lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds
  • Specific vision requirements include color, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

  • Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, extreme cold and heat and outside weather
  • Occationally work in noisy environment
  • Routinely exposed to moving and mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock
