Schrödinger is Hiring a Site Reliability Engineer Near Portland, OR

We’re seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to join us in our mission to improve human health and quality of life through the development, distribution, and application of advanced computational methods utilizing innovative and dynamic cloud-based systems.

As a member of our Information Technology team, you’ll play a crucial role in facilitating the partnership between our development and operations teams. By building solutions in a highly collaborative environment, you’ll help scientists accelerate their R&D activities, reduce costs, and make discoveries that wouldn’t otherwise be possible.

What you’ll do:

  • Help build a modern IT infrastructure in public and private clouds using Terraform and Github
  • Influence project implementations and develop platform technologies to be used by other groups
  • Work closely with scientists, business units, and other teams to understand and shape their needs and technical paths
  • Look and listen for opportunities to leverage skills to improve processes and outcomes
  • Linux systems administration using Ansible and other configuration management tools

What you should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or comparable experience in a professional setting
  • Enterprise experience with Google Cloud and deep familiarity with Google’s best practices
  • Experience with Azure and AWS in a production setting
  • Extensive systems administration background in a Linux environment
  • Experience with DevOps principles, monitoring, and observability
  • Automation proficiency with experience in declarative programming concepts

Estimated base salary range: $100,000 - $190,000. Actual compensation package is dependent on a number of factors, including, for example, experience, education, degrees held, market data, and business needs.
