Position Overview:
The Grounds crew members are responsible for grounds maintenance work assigned across the Schowalter Villa campus. The ideal candidate will work with the supervisor and fellow team members to carry out routine maintenance procedures and ensure an attractive campus. Must participate in special projects and work assignments outside routine maintenance as directed by supervisor. Must treat all residents and fellow employees with respect.
Essential Job Functions of the Grounds Team:
- Lawn maintenance: mowing, edging, trimming, fertilizing, etc.
- Bed maintenance: pruning, trimming, spraying weeds, etc.
- Tree maintenance: pruning, spraying as needed
- Maintenance of irrigation systems
- Landscape installations and improvement projects
- Equipment operation and maintenance
Requirements:
- Drivers license
- Willingness to adapt and learn
- Ability to work as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to identify mechanical problems with equipment and perform minor repairs
- Experience with irrigation maintenance
- Ability to communicate with residents and employees to find solutions and work towards department goals
