LICENSED TEACHER VACANCY
SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER OF THE VISUALLY IMPAIRED - DISTRICT WIDE
THIS POSITION IS ELIGIBLE FOR A ONE TIME SIGNING BONUS OF $2,500 PAYABLE ON DECEMBER 15, 2024 AND
A RETENTION BONUS OF $2,500 AFTER THREE YEARS OF EMPLOYMENT PAYABLE ON JUNE 15, 2027

New Teacher/Licensed Staff Orientation:
New teaching/new licensed staff orientation will be held on July 24 & 25, 2024.
Experience:
District 49 credits each year of verified full-time/full-year K-12 teaching experience up to 20 years.
Work Schedule:
182 contracted work days

Salary:
The minimum starting pay is $54,054*/year and the maximum salary is $86,815.80*/year. Initial pay placement is dependent on level of formal education and years of relevant experience (the maximum credit granted is 20 years).
*Salary reflects 2023-2024 pay schedule and is subject to change. Salary is based on a 15% differential

Qualifications and Expectations:

1. Master's Degree or higher in Education of the Visually Impaired.
2. Training or experience multiply-impaired (including severe and profound).
3. Certification in Orientation and Mobility.
4. Training or experience with preschool visually-impaired.
5. Hold or be eligible to hold a Special Education Teacher, Specialist with an endorsement in Visually Impaired License.
