The Early Intervention Specialist at the School of Imagination is pivotal in supporting toddlers with developmental delays and their families.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Development, Special Education, or a related field is required
Minimum of 2 years experience working with infants and toddlers with special needs in a home-based or classroom setting.
Proven experience in leading classes, conducting developmental assessments, writing developmental progress reports, and crafting individualized developmental goals.
A solid understanding of infant and toddler development and the crucial role of the parent/caregiver-child relationship.
Ability to build and maintain strong, collaborative, supportive relationships with coworkers, supervisors, children, and families.
Adaptability to work effectively in fast-paced environments and manage time efficiently.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Must pass a TB test, criminal background check, and maintain current First Aid and CPR certification.
Responsibilities:
Lead an early intervention class for children ages 2-3 years, including collaboratively creating curriculum and individualized classroom activities.
Empower caregivers through coaching to actively participate in their child’s development, ensuring carry-over of goals in both home and community environments.
Collaborate closely with each child’s interdisciplinary team OT, SLP, RBT, BCBA, classroom team, and Program Director to meet the child's and family's holistic needs, ensuring a cohesive approach to care.
Perform developmental assessments across all domains using standardized tools like DAYC-2 and prepare comprehensive progress reports.
Monitor client goals diligently and complete progress notes for each session.
Participate in team meetings and contribute to the collaborative environment at the School of Imagination.
