Title: ESL Teacher

Location: Malden, MA

Position Type: Full-Time

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute effective English language instruction for students with diverse linguistic backgrounds.
• Utilize research-based strategies and methodologies to facilitate language acquisition.
• Assess English language proficiency levels of English Language Learner (ELL) students using appropriate assessment tools.
• Monitor and evaluate student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as necessary.
• Provide individualized and small-group support to address the specific needs of ELL students.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to facilitate the integration of ELL students into mainstream classrooms.
• Cultivate a culturally responsive learning environment that values and respects the diverse backgrounds of ELL students.
• Maintain regular communication with parents/guardians of ELL students regarding their child's academic progress.
• Collaborate with fellow ESL teachers, general education teachers, and support staff.
• Attend team meetings and participate in professional development sessions.
• Keep accurate and up-to-date records of student assessments, progress reports, and parent communication.

Experience Required:

• Certification as an ESL Teacher by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education or a related field.
• Previous experience working with English language learners.
• Strong understanding of ESL teaching methodologies and best practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
