School District of Washington is Hiring a Paraprofessional - Washington High School Near Washington, WA

The School District of Washington is currently seeking Paraprofessionals at Washington High School for 2024/2025 in our No Excuse Program. Starting pay ranges from $15.30 per hour to $18.47 per hour, depending on experience. This position is retirement eligible, and benefit eligible. The School District of Washington does pay for the employee's medical and vision 100%, with options to buy up and additional benfits like dental and additional life insurance. This position is awarded 10 Paid Leave Days a year as well as comp time eligible. POSITION SUMMARY (Primary purpose of job)

Paraprofessionals are responsible for providing direct and supplemental instruction to students and maintaining an environment conducive to learning. Additional duties include supervisory, student health and/or mobility needs, behavioral and academic support services.

SPHERE AND SCOPE OF INFLUENCE (Supervisory scope, district impact and budgetary responsibility)

Paraprofessionals are responsible for supervising students,implementation of Teacher instruction and assessment plans, and utilizing resources accordingly. Input and collaboration toward these efforts is critical as well as communicating with students, teachers and other staff to implement student programming.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES (Major duties which the position exists to perform)

  1. Assist the teacher with planning, preparation, and implementation of instructional plans to individuals, small groups, or large groups of students.
  2. Build and maintains secure relationships with students as well as maintaining professional relationships with colleagues, parents, and patrons.
  3. Maintain accurate records in accordance with timelines including individual student records, classroom records, content area reports, grade level reports, and building/department records as needed and/or assigned.
  4. Actively engage as a member of team including but not limited to, student teams, grade level or department teams, focus groups, Building and/or District teams.
  5. Report suspected abuse, neglect, discrimination, harassment, etc. as directed by Board Policy and otherwise required by law.
  6. Other duties as directed by the supervisor.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervise students at all times and/or as directed by supervisor

Supervise events as described above and/or directed by supervisor

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS (Minimum educational requirements, licenses, skills and experience required as well as preferred options)

 Valid Missouri substitute teaching certification and/or certifying paraprofessional assessment (para-pro).

PHYSICAL RELATED REQUIREMENTS

The candidate should be able to move in and around the classroom, building, District buildings, and campus locations. The candidate may be required to lift up to 50lbs. and maintain consistent attendance in accordance with the attendance policy unless otherwise required by law. General functioning such as the ability to maintain confidentiality, communicate clearly both orally and in writing, utilize District resources including District issued technology and meeting multiple demands from people while interacting with students, staff, and the public are required to fulfill the essential job duties.
