Position Goal: To guide students toward gaining knowledge and skills in order to become productive citizens.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Planning academic and/or social lessons, providing direct explicit instruction and assessing students to monitor student growth towards IEP goals.
  • Development of IEPs and Re-Evaluations in accordance with district and legal timelines.
  • Coordination and facilitation of IEP team meetings
  • Supporting student access to the general education classroom and the least restrictive environment to ensure a free appropriate public education in collaboration with general education teachers, related service providers, families, and other members of the IEP team.
  • Providing direct instruction to students towards IEP goals and collecting and reporting all relevant data.
  • Direct oversight of the implementation and delivery of supports and services as outlined in their Individualized Educational Program.
  • Ongoing collaboration with other teachers to support students within the classroom setting.
  • Other duties as assigned by the building principal and/or special education supervisor
Position Requires: Special Education Certification Pre-K to 8 and Elementary Education Certification Pre-K to 4 required. Additional general education certification at the 5-8 level preferred.
Compensation: Salary and benefits are set by the collective bargaining agreement for all contracted positions.

  3. PA State Background Check
