Summary:

The School District of Borough of Morrisville is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Supervisor of Special Education. The successful candidate selected for this position should be an Instructional Leader that is student centered and possesses strong organizational, facilitation, and financial management skills. The Supervisor is responsible for “Child Find” mandates and the oversight of the process and procedure used for the referral, evaluation, and the determination of eligibility for special education and services. In addition, responsible for all special education programs, services, budgeting, and the supervision, training and evaluation of all related staff. 

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience –

1. Master’s Degree in Education.
2. Pennsylvania Supervisor of Special Education certification
3. Five or more years of satisfactory teaching experience; such teaching experience in special education would be highly beneficial, but not required.
4. Knowledge and experience with special education eligibility criteria, continuum of special education services, individualized education Programs (“IEPs”), 504 Plans, gifted education, compliance monitoring, ACCESS, differentiated instruction, and federal and state special education law and regulations.
5. Previous experience as a Special Education Administrator or other special education supervisory experience would be highly beneficial, but not required.

 Certificates, Licenses, Registrations -

Valid teaching certificate in one or more areas of special education: 

• Pennsylvania Supervisor of Special Education certification, or
• Pennsylvania Department of Education Kindergarten through Twelfth Grade Principal Certificate, or
• Pennsylvania Department of Education Superintendent Certificate.

 Clearances and other requirements:

Background employment clearances and the following additional paperwok must be completed within the last year to be valid: Arrest/Conviction Report (Act 24), PA Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure (Act 168), and School Health Record which includes physical (within a year) and TB test (within 3 months).

Salary: Per terms of the School District of Borough of Morrisville Act 93 Administrator Compensation Plan.
