School District of Ashland is Hiring an Elementary School Associate Principal Near Ashland, WI

The School District of Ashland is seeking a knowledgeable, experienced school Business Manager. The ideal candidate will provide leadership to align resources and will be committed to working with staff, school board, and community members to support fiscal stewardship, continual improvement, and sound budget management.
Qualifications:
  • Wisconsin Department of Instruction Business Manager #5008 license
  • Candidates with prior experience and deep knowledge of school/governmental accounting
  • Experience in school accounting and budget development
  • Experience with a budget forecasting model
  • Communicates effectively and works collaboratively
  • Experience working with Skyward Financial Management System (preferred)
Job Summary:
The Director of Business Services is responsible for the organization and administration of the financial and business affairs of the school district. This position supervises the Director of Facilities & Grounds, Director of Food Service, Director of Facility Use & Community Outreach, Bookkeeper, Payroll/Benefits, Accounts Payable, and IT.
Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and administer long-range and annual budgets for all district funds.
  • Recommends tax levy to the school board to support the district budget.
  • Serve as administrative advisor to the District Administrator on all questions related to the financial and business operations of the district.
  • Prepare, administer, and monitor the annual budget.
  • Determine salary and benefits assumptions and proposals.
  • Ensure that all required local, state, and federal reports are filed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Responsible for cash management and preparation of short-term borrowing documents.
  • Maintain records appropriate for preparation of annual district audit and financial reporting to the Department of Public Instruction.
  • Manages and assesses plan design option for the district health and dental insurance programs,
  • Responsible for district risk management insurance, including property, liability, and workers compensation.
  • Provide leadership for the implementation of capital projects and facility plans.
  • Serve as liaison to the operations committee.
  • Present all information related to finance to the School Board.
  • Maintain school and community relations.
  • Evaluate, interpret, implement, and make recommendations regarding policies and procedures.
  • Experience with long range capital facility planning.
  • Experience with the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and program reporting and operation requirements.

    Job Description:
    The Associate Principal will serve as an instructional leader of the elementary school to secure the best-possible educational opportunities for students. This individual will administer the elementary school according to the policies of the Board of Education and the administrative directives of the district; take an active role in planning, initiating, refining, and evaluating the instructional and operational programs of the school; provide visionary, child-centered, and inspirational leadership to elementary school staff; and demonstrate strong communication and people skills.
    Qualifications:
    The successful candidate for this position should possess the ability to foster a professional learning community and engage staff in creating a positive and dynamic learning environment focused on student achievement.
    • Candidates must possess Wisconsin DPI licensure #51, or be eligible to obtain the proper licensure.
    Compensation:
    Annual compensation is dependent upon qualifications and experience. This position includes an excellent benefit package.
