School District of Ashland is Hiring a Docker Care Assistant Near Ashland, WI
- Ability to support instruction in all core subject areas utilizing effective strategies for differentiating instruction utilizing knowledge of curriculum based standards.
- In class support sitting with identified students clarifying, redirecting, encouraging students.
- Small group instruction working with identified students clarifying, redirecting, encouraging students—in class or pull out.
- Providing one-to-one academic and/or behavioral support for students identified as needing tier II or tier III intervention. Academic support is focused on math and reading/language arts instruction.
- Flexibility and willingness to work with students utilizing a multi-sensory approach to increase students’ social, emotional, and academic successes.
- Experience and/or training in reading and mathematics learning strategies.
- Ability to use evidence-based classroom management strategies and techniques.
- Ability to use evidence-based individual behavior management strategies and techniques.
- Ability to meet students’ social and emotional needs utilizing non violent crisis intervention techniques.
- Provide transportation for students requiring a ride to their home during the day
- Ability to effectively use and integrate technology in the instructional support setting.
- Ability to prepare required documentation in a timely manner.
- Ability to coordinate and collaborate with other adults within the school.
- Extensive mobility and willingness to perform job duties outdoors.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Have completed high school or its equivalent, as determined by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.
- Have at least 3-6 months of past experience in an early childhood setting.
- Have an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education; OR a Bachelor’s Degree with two courses for credit in Early Childhood Education (is preferred, but not required); OR a registry certificate indicating you are qualified as a child care teacher.
- Experience working positively with elementary school students.
- Knowledge and understanding of Play Based Instruction.
- Experience in implementing effective learning and behavior interventions.
- Excellent communication skills.
